PRESS RELEASE

Fletchers Fotographics Join The PhotoPlus Buying Group

Since embarking on a dedicated expansion program which commenced initially exhibiting at the PMA 2007 Imaging Technology Show in Melbourne, the PhotoPlus Buying Group has experienced phenomenal growth.

Announced today, after many months of discussions, up to ten suburban and country Fletchers Fotographics stores will join the PhotoPlus Buying Group effective 1st July 2009.

Wayne Styles, President of the PhotoPlus Buying Group said “We are delighted to welcome these new members to what is now a truly national and rapidly expanded Buying Group. This growth and these new members will further strengthen our supplier partnerships, and add immense value for our existing membership base.”

This continued growth reflects the growing need that specialty independent retailers really need to be part of a group.”

One great appeal for these new Fletchers stores is that they will join the PhotoPlus Buying Group without sacrificing their unique and well established Fletchers Fotographics identity and culture.”

Styles went on to say, “Whilst we are strictly a buying group, this rapid growth through the Fletchers Fotographic stores will allow us the opportunity to increase the number of optional marketing initiatives that are offered to members. These include such things as seasonal catalogues, promotional flyers, point of sale materials and a dedicated consumer photo magazine for the PhotoPlus Buying Group members. Recent optional marketing initiatives that have been made available to members have proved a strong benefit for both members and suppliers alike.

Established in 1975, and Australia’s oldest independent photographic buying group, PhotoPlus was originally borne from independent photographic store owners seeking a stronger partnership with suppliers, to maximise the efficiencies of greater buying power and trading terms.

The joining of these Fletchers Fotgraphic members takes the number of PhotoPlus stores Australia wide to sixty.
